Britta adopted Jasper when she was 21. He was with her for almost 15 years, and when he died in March 2024 she fell apart. Her friends were kind, but nothing out there was really built for grieving a pet, and she didn't have a name for what she was feeling until she came across the term disenfranchised grief.
"So, selfishly, I built what I most needed in order to heal."
She built Jasper while she was still grieving him, and she was its first member. Before that she spent 15 years in marketing and brand strategy at Google, Uber, Alfred, Pillar and other startups.
She hosts groups in the community.
